Dr. Jon Duncan

Graduated from Kansas State University in 1976 and completed an internship in internal medicine at the University of Minnesota before spending three years in Idaho and moving to Eugene in 1980.  Dr. Duncan has owned the Willakenzie Animal Clinic since 1982.

Dr. Duncan is blessed to thoroughly enjoy general practice with all it's variety and challenges. Areas of particular interest include dental care, kidney disease treatment, and pain management and comfort care for all his aging patients.

Dr. Duncan's family includes his four grown sons, grandchildren, and wife Gretchen. Dogs Lark-a German Shorthair, Charlotte-a Laborador, and Jasper the cat who keeps things lively around the house.

Dr. Meri Brandt

Born in Illinois, raised in Arizona, and a resident of Oregon as of 2016.  Dr. Brandt received her degree in Biology from Arizona State University.   She graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and completed her clinical year of veterinary school at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.  After graduation from veterinary school in 2007 Dr. Brandt returned to Arizona to practice veterinary medicine.

Drawn to the climate of the Pacific Northwest, she has joined our team at Willakenzie Animal Clinic.  She lives in Eugene with her husband and young son.  Their dogs Elwood - a bluetick coonhound, and Walter - an adorable terrier mix are most content guarding the house while basking in the sunshine.   Dr. Brandt enjoys all aspects of general practice, and is excited to get to know you and your pets here at Willakenzie Animal Clinic.

Dr. Stacy DeWall

Born and raised in Oregon, her love of animals began at a young age when she started to feed and help stray cats in the neighborhood.  4-H was a big part of her childhood, along with showing horses, and being a veterinarian was a childhood dream that came true.

Dr. DeWall attended OSU and WSU, and was one of the last classes to spend part of her 4 years in Pullman.  She graduated in 2005 and went into private practice in Portland.  Her interests include internal medicine and dermatology, and she finds veterinary medicine exciting and challenging.

In 2011, she married her now husband and moved to Harrisburg, OR.  They live on a farm where grass seed, wheat, corn, peas, and hazelnuts are grown. It's a busy lifestyle, but very rewarding.  Dr. DeWall and her husband have two children, as well as 2 cats, 1 dog and too many horses (according to her husband).  In her spare time, she enjoys being outdoors, playing/teaching/learning with her children and riding/showing her home-bred horses.

Dr. Tara Whalen

Dr. Whalen was born in Wyoming but raised in the great state of Nevada.  There, she obtained her Bachelor's degree at the University of Nevada, Reno.  She completed her veterinary degree from Washington State University in 2018 (go Cougs!).  After graduation, Dr. Whalen and her husband Mitch were drawn to Eugene because of the many opportunities for outdoor adventures and the lush landscape.  Dr. Whalen's adopted pitty Tate accompanies her and her husband on all their adventures while the two cats, The Fuzz and Mr. Scrubs, rule the roost.

While Dr. Whalen enjoys the many facets of general practice, she is particularly interested in behavior, ophthalmology, and keeping our senior pets happy and comfortable.
